The 2010 NeoCon World's Trade Fair saw an increase in attendance from last year, making it successful even in a tough economy.
The 42nd annual fair was held June 14-16 at Chicago's Merchandise Mart. Over 41,000 industry personnel attended the event, resulting in a 10 percent increase over 2009 attendance.
At the show, over 700 showrooms displayed products, including thousands on display for the first time. The Best of NeoCon competition had over 340 product entries. In addition, the fair offered more than 150 CEU-accredited seminars to attendees. The keynote presenters of the program were Majora Carter, executive director and founder of Sustainable South Bronx; architect and designer, Michael Graves; Margaret McCurry, named Architectural Digest’s top 100 designers for 2010; and Yves Behar, industrial designer and founder of fuseproject.
“Innovation and design are what drive this industry. Regardless of economic conditions–and perhaps because of them– clients face daunting challenges and seek real and inspired solutions. NeoCon Chicago is the de facto destination in North America for people involved with workplace furnishings to discover innovation,” said Bernard Tuohy, vice president of marketing-design at Tuohy Furniture Corporation, an exhibitor at the show.
NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2011 will take place June 13-June 15, 2011, at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. For more information about NeoCon, visit the website or call 800.677.6278 (MART).
