Woodcraft recently unveiled its Pen Designer, an online tool that allows woodturners to try different pen and pencil options, to create and preview custom designs before using a lathe.
The Pen Designer website, www.Woodcraft.com/DesignIt, has 39,000 combinations of pen blanks, styles and finishes. Viewers have the option to print their shopping list and take it to a Woodcraft store for purchase. The site also has a video Scott Phillips, host of "The American Woodshop" on PBS, guiding users through the design process.
