CabinetMakerFDM's new webinar series that started November 17 continued with a special presentation on water-based finishing for the small shop. Each webinar in the series is a free, stand-alone event that can be accessed from any computer, tablet, or hand-held device with an Internet connection.

On January 19, Water based finishing for the small shop was presented. Recent advancements in finishes, finishing techniques, and finishing technology are improving the processes and quality of wood finishes in the future. Phil Stevenson of the American Wood Finishing Institute presented practical information on how to improve finishing operations, with this session focusing on use of water based finishes in the small to medium size shop.
Stevenson discussed how to convert to water-based finishing, and the areas of the country where it first saw widespread use. He also talked about improvements in application and coating technology over the years. The best applications for water-based products and green applications were also covered.
Of special interest to all shops, Stevenson presented the different types of finishes, characteristics and advantages of each.
February 2-- Advancements in Tooling Technology - This webinar set for February will explore new advances in tooling that can improve cutting effiiciency.
