Vollmer of America Corp. announced the development of the QXD200 machine for finishing polycrystalline diamond tools.
Vollmer of America added the QXD200 machine for finishing PCD tools to its product offerings.
By combining rotary erosion capability with grinding wheels for fluting on helical tools, the QXD200 enables a complete drill bit or end mill to be processed in one machine setup, according to the company. QXD200 features six programmable axes, a six-position tool changer and three options for tool delivery with capacities up to 64 tools. The machine's offline simulation creates a 3-D model that can be incorporated into other software packages for verification of end results on tool geometry, Vollmer says.
Getting the most from a widebelt sander and abrasives is a matter of balancing your budget with proper features to perform the work needed.
Q: We have a gang rip saw that we have trouble with. When the lumber is about halfway through, the piece travels away from the fence. The infeed has rollers that are at an angle so that the lumber is pushed against the fence. That seems to work well for the beginning of the pieces, but then it moves away from the fence. When we increase the feed roll pressure it seems like it might get worse. Any ideas?
