Stiles' "Tetris" book cases were created during IWF and donated to Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta after the show.
Stiles Machinery Inc. (www.stilesmachinery.com) donated more than 160 multi-functional bookcases to Habitat for Humanity at the end the 2012 International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta.
Stiles' Tetris book cases, named because of their resemblance to the Tetris game, were created during four daily machine demonstrations over the four days of the fair. The book cases were received by Habitat for Humanity’s donation center in Atlanta and will be put to immediate use in newly constructed homes in the area.
Roucke Pressing Technologies, Boise Cascade, Hettich and Rehau partnered with Stiles in the creation of the Tetris book cases by donating material and hardware.
“A lot of suppliers demonstrate their equipment at the fair, and then scrap the product at the end of the show,” said Steve Waltman, vice president of marketing and communications. “By donating to Habitat for Humanity, we were able to eliminate waste and give back to the community.”
