10th anniversary Stiles EBC event in 2012 set for Charlotte, N.C.
Economist Alan Beaulieu gave the keynote address at the Stiles Executive Briefing Conference.
The 9th Executive Briefing Conference presented by Stiles Machinery Inc. brought some 125 industry professionals from across the United States to St. Paul, Minn., for information and inspiration.
Since inception in 2002, the consistent theme of the EBC is to answer the questions “What’s Now, What’s New, and What’s Next?” A spokesman said Stiles remains committed to offering the EBC as the premier venue for executives to network and explore new ways to succeed. Event evaluations confirmed the 2011 EBC was a timely reminder that much could be done to overcome the current economic conditions.
According to, Elliot Germany, president of Panel Specialists Inc., “The event platform allowed woodworking industry executives from a wide variety of markets, the opportunity for collective, positive collaboration on important issues concerning us all: what must be done in order for our businesses not only to survive, but also thrive in a weakened global economy.”
Alan Beaulieu delivered the closing keynote at the conference. Bob Johnston from the Tropical Forest Foundation remarked, “The kind of hospitality at the EBC was greatly appreciated. Stiles put on an excellent conference that attracted a top notch group of executives.”
EBC attendees toured 3M’s World of Innovation and Center for Abrasive Materials (CAM) lab.
The conference was held April 10 to 12, 2011 at the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul. Minn. In addition to the briefing sessions, the conference also included a tour of the 3M World of Innovation and demonstrations in 3M’s Customer Abrasive Methods (CAM) Center.
“The 3M Innovation Center proved to be the perfect backdrop, offering inspiration and proof that success comes from innovative people and processes, creating quality products and offering needed services that bring significant value to their customers,” said Germany.
The 2012 EBC will be the 10th anniversary of this industry event and will take place in Charlotte, N.C., March 4 to 6, 2012. To mark this milestone, Stiles plans for a memorable conference with high profile speakers, innovative program features, and a tour of the Blum US facility.
