The murals on the Lewis Lumber building show the history of the location in Picture Rocks, Pa.
Dwight Lewis Lumber and Lewis Lumber Products, www.lewislp.com, recently installed four new murals on the companies' building in Picture Rocks, Pa.
In September 2011, local artist Michael Pilato and co-painter Alida Frey, transformed LLP’s historic building as they added to their collection of murals. The owners of the companies, Marc and Mel Lewis, decided to commission the murals to highlight the local history of Picture Rocks on their store front. The four murals on the building featuring an original settler of Picture Rocks, Amos Burrows, a local woodworker, Louis Gansell, an artist from Picture Rocks, John Wesley Little, and Dwight Lewis, one of the owners.
“I’m so pleased that the Lewis’ decided to have these murals added to the building,” said Jason Lutz, LLP Hardwood store manager. “Not only are they adding to the appearance of the building, they also make great conversation pieces in the store.”
