Delta Power Equipment Corp. will donate Unisaw cabinet saws and dust collection units to the cabinetmaking competition at the SkillsUSA National Conference and Contest.
The company will provide 18 Unisaw cabinet saws and nine dust collection units thats will be used during the competition, which takes place in Kansas City, Mo., in June. Delta says the saws were produced at its new manufacturing facility in Anderson, S.C.
In the cabinetmaking competition, 68 SkillsUSA students will compete in two age groups, secondary and post-secondary, and the winner of the post-secondary competition will compete in the WorldSkills Cabinetmaking Qualifying Trial at AWFS Fair in July. Delta will donate a Unisaw saw to the competition winner and to the winner's school.
“We are pleased to provide the SkillsUSA national cabinetmaking competition with our machinery and equipment,” said Bryan Whiffen, president and chief executive of Delta. “These young men and women are serious about entering the cabinetmaking industry and we naturally want to encourage and support their interest in this industry in any way that we can.”
