Steve Roark set up pneumatic clamps on a long extrusion for a sliding table hold-down aid.
Steve Roark, owner of Roark Woodworking, located in Moorpark, Calif., wanted to cut the vibration on his table saw. So he hooked up a power-feeder to the table and a long extrusion clamp that he purchased from Ritter.
On the extrusion, which runs the length of the table, there are air-assisted clamps to hold the wood down when they’re activated. The clamps hold the wood panel or parts down securely, eliminating all vibration. Roark not only gets a very clean cut, but the part stays square once the clamps are down. The extrusion and clamp setup moves with the sliding table. Roark uses his sliding table saw to straight-line everything.
