Release Date:
The Cabinet Makers Association launched a Professional Certification Program, designed to address the business of operating an ethical, sustainable and profitable small to mid-size woodworking or cabinet shop.
CMA's Professional Certification Program encompasses technical and business management areas of study as well as business ethics. The program requires passing tests at each level, making attendance at live or Web-based classes optional, as long as the attendee can pass the test. Full coursework is provided to attendees, with no time limit on earning either basic or master level certifications. Members enrolled in CMA's certification program will be required to keep current on their knowledge by earning four Continuing Education Units each year.
Those interested in enrolling in the Professional Certification Program must be dues-paying CMA members. If interested, register by 11:59 p.m., on Aug. 31, to be part of a charter enrollee group that receives an extension on annual administrative fees through Dec. 31, 2012, and the opportunity to include any CEU credits earned in 2011 toward meeting 2012 CEU requirements.
