The Association for Manufacturing Excellence will host the 2011 Annual Excellence Inside International Conference in October, for manufacturing professionals. The conference will take place from Oct. 24-28, in Dallas, Texas, where more than 2,500 manufacturers are expected to gather to hear keynote speakers, and share best manufacturing practices and network with other industry professionals.
Attendees will be offered 40 workshops, 60 presentations and 10 special interest sessions, from “Mastering Lean Product Development” and “Sustainability Unplugged,” to “Lean Accounting” and “Value Stream Mapping." Conference attendees will also have the option to take part in any of 40 scheduled plant tours and will have access to an exhibition hall with more than 60 exhibitors showcasing practical lean knowledge-based products and services.
The conference will include eight keynote speakers: Temple Grandin, Ph.D., professor of animal sciences, Colorado State University; Mike Rother, an engineer, researcher and teacher affiliated with the University of Michigan and Industrial Technology Institute; Charles Whalen Jr., chairman of the Warren Featherbone Co.; Gregory Hall, senior vice president of technical operations at FedEx Express; Gary Convis, consultant to Dana Holding Corp.; Sarah Patterson, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Virginia Mason Medical Center; James Womack, Ph.D., founder of the Lean Enterprise Institute Inc.; and Robyn Benincasa, professional adventure racer and teamwork builder.
