The Georgia-Pacific Chemicals team that developed the Leaf line of low-emitting wood adhesives won a 2009 Georgia-Pacific Environmental Excellence Award.
Georgia-Pacific’s Leaf adhesives were designed to comply with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Airborne Toxic Control Measure to reduce formaldehyde emissions from phase two composite wood products. The Environmental Excellence Awards are presented annually to company facilities or business groups for outstanding environmental achievement. Entries are evaluated using a variety of criteria, including resource conservation, reduction of environmental impact, innovation, cost effectiveness, employee involvement, community benefit and overall program excellence.
“Winning the Environmental Excellence award is a good indicator of the support our employees have for Georgia-Pacific’s commitment to the environment, our community, customers and continual improvement,” said Rick Urschel, president of Georgia-Pacific Chemicals.
