OFM is financing a project aimed at making its headquarters carbon neutral.
The company is installing a 250-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system on the roof of its main building in Holly Springs, N.C., and the power generated will be sold to Progress Energy.
For the project, engineers will mount 1,042 solar panels on the rooftop of OFM’s headquarters in Holly Springs before the end of the year. The photovoltaic system will generate 322,500 kilowatts of electricity per year, which, according to the company, will be more energy than it uses.
OFM plans to complete the solar farm project by the end of 2010.
