A ranking of companies based on annual sales volume.
Information about the companies listed in the FDM 300 is obtained through questionnaires. If no response is received, editors telephone each company to update the data. Companies are ranked based on annual sales volume for their most recent fiscal year. When sales information isn't readily available, various sources are consulted to develop logical estimates. These estimates are marked with asterisks.
Products made by FDM 300 companies include kitchen and bath cabinets, contract/office furniture, residential furniture, architectural woodwork, store fixtures and other refined wood products. For companies that also produce unrelated product lines, editors strive to obtain an annual sales figure that reflects only the furniture-manufacturing activities.
